Public Holidays 2008

4 long weekends to enjoy

SINGAPOREANS will get to enjoy one four-day weekend next year, when

Chinese New Year falls on a Thursday and Friday.

Apart from that long break in February, there will be just three

three-day long weekends to enjoy, when Good Friday, Vesak Day and Hari

Raya Haji fall on a Friday or Monday.

The list of public holidays for next year was released by the Ministry of

Manpower yesterday. It set a tentative date for Deepavali on Oct 28, but

will check it against the Hindu almanacs available later this year.
